Salt Lake City: Booming and Blooming
Salt Lake City is currently experiencing a renaissance in its real estate market. While many other cities have had a downturn in the market over the last year or two, Salt Lake City continues with a high market demand, with many neighborhoods experiencing double-digit annual value growth.
The reasons for this are several. With a continuing expansion of the Utah economy, including strong job demand in several sectors and very low unemployment, more and more Utahns are buying homes. In addition, Salt Lake City is attracting families from all over the west and throughout the country who are drawn to its diverse culture and resources, clean, small town values and attractive real estate values. Investors are also drawn to Salt Lake City's booming economy and relatively inexpensive property and see tremendous opportunities for profit.
There are several distinct neighborhoods that each offer diverse charm. In Salt Lake City proper, The Avenues, Harvard/Yale and Sugarhouse areas offer classical neighborhoods with unique architecture, tree lined streets and proximity to all the benefits of an urban lifestyle.
Neighborhoods further out from the city center offer outstanding views of the Wasatch range and a more relaxed suburban experience, while always just minutes access to highways and mass transit. Mt. Olympus, Cottonwood Heights and Holladay are among the favorites and include wonderful larger homes.
Newer developments and more suburban neighborhoods include Sandy, Draper, West Jordan, South Jordan, and Harriman. Much of the newest development is taking place in Daybreak and Suncrest, with beautiful new neighborhoods that are attracting families to brand new planned communities.
